How Do I Keep My Pug From Digging?

Many DOGS love to dig holes, and some breeds were even designed for it. If you own a pug and have a yard, at some point you're likely to run into this problem. So how do you keep a pug from digging holes and making a mess of everything? Here are some quick tips that may help you get to the bottom of this problem.

While most dogs shed, poodles are actually incapable of shedding. That fact makes them excellent house pets, since they don't get the furniture covered in fur. Also, due to the nature of their fur and the fact that they do not shed, most people with dog allergies aren't allergic to poodles.

Possible reasons your pug may be digging:

The springer spaniel breed is well-known for having very high energy levels. In fact, the "spring" in "springer spaniel" referred to this dog's ability to spring out at, or startle game. They are excellent hunting dogs.

He/she comes from a breed that loves to dig (terriers are notorious for this) He/she is looking for some attention He/she is bored and has nothing else to do (this isn't a joke--dogs need both physical and mental exercise to keep out of trouble) He/she is responding to a natural instinct for shelter and a den He/she is searching for a mate

The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.

If it becomes clear that one of these reasons is the main culprit, then that gives you various courses of action you can take to take care of the digging. If it isn't obvious, then there are still courses of action you can take in order to help wean them off this problem behavior.

Originating in Germany, the name Affenpinscher means, "monkey-like terrier". However, in France the breed is described as the "Diablotin Moustachu" or "moustached little devil". Both describe the appearance and attitude of this delightful breed.

First, when you do catch your pug digging, be consistent and show them that this is not acceptable. A gentle spray of the hose, a stern warning, or restricting them to a small caged in area may help reinforce these ideas.

The largest and the smallest dogs to live in the White House were both there during the tenure of president James Buchanan. The president had a Newfoundland named Lara. His niece, Harriet Lane, had a tiny toy terrier named Punch.

Try giving your pug a lot of exercise. Pugs who burn off energy are far less likely to dig then ones who are excited. This will solve the problem most of the time. Also, pay attention to see if there's a specific time they are doing this. Some pugs just like to be helping out, so if you're digging holes in a garden, they think they're just lending a helpful paw! And if this is due to looking for a mate, but you don't want the problems of puppies, you should look at getting your pug fixed.

Rhodesian ridgebacks have an actual ridge along the top of their backs. The ridge is made up of forward-growing hairs. This ridge gives the rhodesian ridgeback a unique and easily recognizable look.

Try these methods, and with some steady and consistent training you should be able to solve this problem.

Chow chows were originally bred as food, just like cows. However, in some cases, they were also used as hunters and helpers. They were also used to keep people warm under cold conditions by cuddling up to people with their soft, warm fur.
